If injectable HGH is the sledgehammer, the CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin stack is the surgical scalpel. It costs a fraction of the price, restores your own pulsatile growth hormone release patterns, and gives you almost all of the recovery and body composition benefits without shutting down your endogenous axis. This is the peptide combination most Enhanced Men over 30 should be running before they ever touch exogenous HGH.
Why Stack Two Peptides?
Your pituitary releases growth hormone in pulses, primarily during deep sleep and post-exercise. Two distinct receptor systems control this:
- The GHRH receptor — Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone tells the pituitary when to release GH
- The GHSR (ghrelin) receptor — Growth Hormone Secretagogue Receptor tells the pituitary how much to release
Hit only one receptor and you get a modest pulse. Hit both simultaneously and you get a synergistic, supraphysiologic pulse — without the constant suppression caused by exogenous HGH.
CJC-1295 Explained
CJC-1295 is a GHRH analog. Two main versions:
- CJC-1295 No DAC (Modified GRF 1-29) — Half-life ~30 minutes. Mimics natural GHRH pulses. Preferred for stacking.
- CJC-1295 with DAC — Drug Affinity Complex extends half-life to 6-8 days. Causes a sustained “bleed” of GH which can blunt natural pulsatility. Generally inferior for performance use.
For the recovery and body composition stack, always use the No DAC version. You want pulses, not a constant infusion.
Ipamorelin Explained
Ipamorelin is a selective GHSR (ghrelin receptor) agonist. Unlike older secretagogues like GHRP-6 and GHRP-2, Ipamorelin does not:
- Spike cortisol
- Spike prolactin
- Cause the ravenous hunger of GHRP-6
It’s the cleanest ghRP available. That’s why it’s the workhorse of every serious peptide protocol.
The Synergy
Run alone, CJC-1295 No DAC produces a modest GH pulse. Run alone, Ipamorelin produces a modest GH pulse. Run together — same injection, same time — you get a pulse that is roughly 3-5x larger than either alone. This is documented in clinical pharmacology research and consistent with mechanism: you’re co-stimulating two complementary pathways.
Dosing Protocol
The standard Enhanced Man protocol:
- CJC-1295 No DAC: 100 mcg per injection
- Ipamorelin: 100-300 mcg per injection
- Frequency: 2-3 injections per day
- Timing:
- Pre-bed (most important — augments natural sleep GH pulse)
- Post-workout
- Optional mid-morning (fasted)
- Fasting requirement: No food 1-2 hours before or 30 minutes after injection. Carbohydrates and high-protein meals blunt GH release via somatostatin.
- Cycle length: 12 weeks on, 4 weeks off — or run continuously with periodic deload weeks
Reconstitution
Both peptides ship as lyophilized powder. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water:
- 2mg CJC-1295 + 2ml BAC water = 100 mcg per 5 IU on a 100-unit insulin syringe (5 ticks)
- 5mg Ipamorelin + 2ml BAC water = 250 mcg per 5 IU (5 ticks)
Most users mix both into a single insulin syringe and inject subcutaneously into abdominal fat or thigh. Rotate sites.
Expected Results
Within 2-4 weeks:
- Improved sleep architecture (deeper Stage 3 sleep)
- Faster recovery between training sessions
- Skin texture improvements
- Reduction in joint stiffness
Within 8-12 weeks:
- Visible reduction in stubborn body fat (especially visceral)
- Modest lean mass gains in trained individuals
- Hair quality improvements
- IGF-1 elevation of 50-150 ng/mL on bloodwork
Side Effects to Manage
- Water retention in first 2 weeks (transient)
- Tingling/numbness in hands/feet (mild carpal tunnel) — drop dose if persistent
- Flushing at injection site (normal histamine response from Ipamorelin)
- Elevated fasting glucose — monitor on bloodwork
Bloodwork Monitoring
Run baseline IGF-1 before starting. Recheck at 6 and 12 weeks. Target range: top of reference range for your age. Also monitor fasting glucose, HbA1c, and IGFBP-3. See the Bloodwork guide for full reference ranges.
Stacking with Hormones
This stack pairs powerfully with TRT for men over 35. The combination of optimized testosterone plus pulsatile GH is the foundation of body recomposition for the enhanced man. See the Hormones guide for protocol integration.
Tony Huge’s Take
People are scared of “messing with their hormones” while they sit at desks all day, eat industrial food, and chronically under-sleep. Every one of those choices is already messing with their hormones — for the worse. Restoring youthful GH pulsatility with a clean peptide stack is not “biohacking gone too far.” It’s correcting a deficit that modern life created. The first law of biochemistry Physics applies: the body adapts to whatever signals you send it. Send it the right ones.
